La Jolla

La Jolla, or "the jewel" in Spanish, is one of the most affluent communities in San Diego County. This well-established residential community has a downtown retail district comprised of fashionable boutiques, restaurants, corporate offices and finance centers. Its beautiful homes are built into the hillside overlooking the ocean. The University of California, San Diego (UCSD) campus is located in La Jolla and is the focal point for many of the region´s renowned research institutions. Located just east of Interstate 5 is the commercially bustling epicenter of University Towne Center.
